The Sir Frederick Mappin building has been the centre of engineering for the last 150 years and the Engineering Heartspace, which is housed under a new, curved glass roof, links together the Grade II listed building with the 1885 Central Wing.

Royce Translational Centre

One of the prestigious Henry Royce Institute facilities, the Royce Translational Centre is home to Royce at Sheffield and the metal research group of the AMRC, the National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC). It accelerates the transfer of knowledge to industry in the field of Advanced Metals Processing.
