- Profile
-
I am Clinical Academic with research interests in palliative and end-of-life care, bereavement support, and look to address inequities and improve inclusivity within these areas. I am currently undertaking a NIHR Advanced Fellowship focused on conducting an inclusive evaluation of care at the very end of life. This builds on the participatory methodology from the study which I co-led.
I am the Deputy Co-Lead for the Cancer in the Community domain as part of the Cancer Research Executive.
I was originally awarded my Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2010. This focused on evaluating quality of care at the very end-of-life (last days) and led to the development and international validation of the Care Of the Dying Evaluation (CODETM) tool. I lead the Engaging Bereaved Relatives project group as part of the .
In 2018, I obtained a Yorkshire Cancer Research CONNECTS Senior Clinical Research Fellowship. In 2020, I was awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship to study the global provision of care for those with incurable head and neck cancer.
