- Profile
-
I am a Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Fellow at the ±¬ÁÏTV, specialising in advanced composite systems and low-carbon materials for civil infrastructure applications. I obtained my PhD in Structural Engineering from Islamic Azad University, Iran, in 2021. Before joining Sheffield, I worked for over fifteen years as a Senior Researcher at the Building and Housing Research Center (BHRC), contributing to national code development, industrial projects, and innovative strengthening systems for reinforced concrete structures. My research and professional experience span academia, industry, and consultancy across Iran and the UK.
My research focuses on developing stronger, safer, and more sustainable construction materials for buildings and infrastructure. I investigate how advanced composite materials and low-carbon cementitious systems can improve the performance of structures during earthquakes and other extreme conditions. Using laboratory testing and numerical modelling, I study the behaviour of reinforced concrete and masonry systems and develop innovative strengthening techniques that enhance structural resilience while reducing environmental impact.
