Gavin is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with over 15 years of experience of leading change in a UK University environment. He works with senior leaders to ensure the value of library services in the future. He is an active member of the institution's Centre for Machine Intelligence and RLUK's Digital Scholarship Network. He holds a PhD in Philosophy and masters degrees in both STEM and non-STEM fields and has current interests in the application of AI in research library services and how to support the increasing Digital Scholarship activities of researchers.
