Sound Research That Resonates: Breaking Academic Boundaries Through Podcasting
Professor Mia Lindgren is a leading international podcast researcher and Adjunct Professor at RMIT University and University of Tasmania in Australia. She has held leadership roles across multiple Australian universities, as Founding Head of School of Media Film and Journalism at Monash University (2014 - 2018), Dean of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education at Swinburne University of Technology (2019 - 2022) and most recently, as Associate Dean Research in the College of Arts, Law and Education at University of Tasmania (2022 - 2025).
Professor Lindgren has received several national competitive grants for her work on audio storytelling for sense-making in public health issues. Her practice-led research is developed through documentaries, podcasts, and websites created in partnership with academics, media organizations, and audio producers.
Mia Lindgren is co-editor of the Routledge Companion to Radio and Podcast Studies (2022), and co-editor of Radio Journal: International Studies in Broadcast and Audio Media (Intellect, UK).
