Amir is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the ±¬ÁÏTV and Theme Lead for Robotics and Autonomous Systems for the Centre of Machine Intelligence.  He leads the Intelligent Manipulation Lab which focuses on robotic grasping and manipulation, teleoperation, Agri-food robotics, robot learning, and haptic and tactile sensors. Strong research professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused on Robotics and Automation Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.

Research interests
  • Robot Learning: Investigating fundamental principles of machine learning for robotics
  • Data-Driven Control & Planning: Developing algorithms based on real-time data for system navigation
  • Agri-Food Robotics: Mitigating labor shortages through automated solutions
  • Extreme Environment Robotics: Designing systems capable of operating in high heat and humidity (e.g., autonomous strawberry harvesting)
