Dr Nygaard is a Senior University Teacher at the ±¬ÁÏTV, specialising in finance. His research focuses on asset pricing, corporate governance, and individual investor trading behaviour, with research published in academic journals including Management Science, Harvard Business Law Review, Energy Economics, and the Scandinavian Journal of Economics.
Dr Nygaard has held research fellowships at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He was recently awarded the Best Postgraduate Lecturer Prize at the ±¬ÁÏTV in recognition of his teaching excellence.
Before entering academia, he worked as an Economist at the Chr. Michelsen Institute, contributing to policy-oriented research projects commissioned by organisations including the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and the United Nations Development Programme. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics, a graduate degree from the University of Cambridge, and an undergraduate degree from Bayes Business School.
