  • Provide technical support to research and teaching, technical colleagues and researchers to design technical solutions relating to build, maintenance and repair of instrumentation
  • To design custom I.T solutions for rigs or instrumentation (e.g. module communication, set-up, data collection, interfacing or installation). Working across workshops and laboratories, utilising computing, electrical and mechanical skills to solve scientific or engineering challenges
  • Carry out design, specification and building of equipment and safety systems
  • Report urgent repairs to Estates and Facilities Management in the absence of the team leader
  • Responsible for PAT testing all new electrical equipment and adding to the asset database
