  • Carry out on and off-site repair of vacuum and specialist mechanical systems, chiller units, furnaces and other systems within the School, liaising with service users, other Schools and/or suppliers to do so
  • Record and monitor all vacuum systems, ensuring that appropriate maintenance and inspection and service records are retained and updated as appropriate
  • Carry out training, maintenance, servicing, modification and repair on a variety of specialist instrumentation and bespoke equipment. Work to ensure failures and breakdowns have limited impact on day-to-day laboratory activity and liaise with equipment suppliers and engineers to carry out complex repairs. Communicate with relevant stakeholders to ensure equipment failures are known and that timescales for repair are made clear and to a minimum
